i had a really good weekend. i was busy the entire time but it wasn't tiring. strange but true. friday, i was going to just veg out at home but decided to head to the turtle races. chucks was there and i spent my time hanging out with him and his friends. we had a nice time. he gave me a ride home. we actually talked about maybe going out. but decided that we liked being friends and didn't want to jeaprodize that. it was nice to be able to talk this through before things went any further and then got awkward. i hate that feeling. i've been having that happen a lot lately. i go out on a date or 2 with a friend of mine then when i'm not really interested in pursuing things further, they get all strange. i have to figure out a better way to deal with going back being friend's without causing the major awkwardness that keeps happening. i feel really guilty just telling someone that i'm not interested anymore.
as for the rest of my weekend...i joined highlife adventures. there are a lot of things to do with them. they schedule 50-60 activities a month that you can either go to or not. then jd and i went to see the flugtag competitions. see www.redbullflugtagchicago.com for details. needless to say it was hilarious. then jd and i had dinner with ml and her brother. then off to summerdance. nice night for it. i danced a ton. rl took jd and i to lb and cd's party. it was fun to see the mixing and mingling of rockabilly and swing crowds. especially when it came to dancing.
i worked at the northalsted market days for the NRS on sunday. i love working there. it is so personally fulfilling for me. i get to help people even just by listening to them tell me their problems. it's nice to know that i have helped someone each and every time i am on the phones.
sunday evening was probably the highlight of my weekend. i went with tw to fitzgerald's. we saw brienn perry's orchestra. they were amazing. but that wasn't the best part. there were a group of old timers (over 70) who were all there dancing. it was so great to see the way it was supposed to be done. they were all friendly and loved the fact that there were some younger ones there who could dance.
