it is amazing to me how much more i can get done when my boss is out of the office. instead of him coming by to change my priorities or ask if i can help someone out on a project......i was able to focus on my "to do" list and put a dent in it. of course that will all change tomorrow when he returns. meanwhile, he did leave me a voicemail this morning asking me to measure some parts. but i decided that this could wait until tomorrow (it is my program after all and i know what the priorities are on it.) i will just tell him that i couldn't get into the lab until tomorrow morning. this is not completely a lie.....seeing how i asked the lab guys if i could use the measuring equipment tomorrow morning. i just don't need to tell bossman that i said it that way. i know this is a technicality but i was able to get so much more done today and get others off my back for a while that it was worth it. my guess is that my boss won't even come to talk with me until tomorrow afternoon and by then i will be done with what he asked me to do. yes i am rationalizing.....but too bad.
