let's just say that things continue to be chaotic at work. i have spent the better part of 2 weeks in our testing lab. i am getting really behind on most of my other programs but i can't worry about that now. let's just say it has been a busy but very educational couple of weeks. it's amazing how much you learn when you are doing failure analysis. i have parts that are failing testing. so we have to fix them....the only problem is that we were already late getting the data to the customer and now we have to find the problem and fix it, which takes a ton more time. even if we found the problem right now, we would have to test it to make sure that it really is a fix. the testing takes 40 days to complete. way too long. but that is the test stipulated by our customer.
there are some good things that are coming out of this....i am learning a ton of stuff. some of the things that i took for granted are either being questioned or verified. either way, i know understand better why some of these tests that we are running need to be done the way that they are written in the procedure. another good thing is that while i am learning a ton...i am not being blamed for the issues that we are running into. the issues that have come up, are being "blamed" on our facility in germany. this is where the parts are being designed, manufactured, and assembled. the only reason that i have anything to do with it is that the US has to do the testing here. the test lab at our facility in germany isn't approved by our customer so we have to do the testing here. so i am involved more as an investigator than anything else. it is pretty fun....but i am starting to get tired of it. so hopefully it won't last much longer. we have a possible fix but won't know for sure until 40 days from now. cross your fingers that it all works out.
my sister and i are heading to the detroit area this weekend to visit our cousin's. we haven't seen them in a couple of years. we now have 7-2nd cousins. we haven't seen 3 or 4 of them. my sister and i only have 4 cousins...small family. our cousins only have 2 cousins (julie and me). so the fact that we haven't seen them in 2 years is pretty bad. we should have a good time.
