My sister got engaged last Thursday!!!!
Bill (her fiancée) asked Julie on Thursday night by making her a very elaborate dinner. He asked her right when she got there since by then she knew what it was all about. Then they had an 8 course meal. After dinner he wanted to take her to a local bar where they always go to celebrate some more....of course all of their friends were there.
She thought this was the end of the celebration but alas.....it continued through the weekend. She thought she was going to Cleveland to celebrate Bill's aunt's 60th birthday party but when they got to the airport and then lady at the desk asked for their destination...he told her Las Vegas!! Julie was shocked. When they got to the gate...more surprises....4 of her friends were on the plane with them. They told the Southwest flight attendants that Julie and Bill just got engaged so they announced it over the intercom. The flight attendants then asked all the married couples on the flight to write down some words of wisdom for the newly engaged couple. The 10 best ones were read over the intercom. Julie and Bill were given all of them plus the flight attendants made them a cake out of toilet paper, toothpicks, and sugar packets.
Once they got to their casino in Vegas....Julie finds out about another surprise, our parents, aunt and uncle, and Ben and I are all there waiting for them. As the day went on, more people showed up including Bill's parents.
It was very stressful keeping this all from Julie but in the end it was all worth it.
Bill and Julie are buying a condo at the end of this month so I will finally be able to live by myself for the first time in my life. should be interesting.
