i survived the holiday with my parents. i used some of my relaxation techniques and they worked. now this sounds like it is hard to be with my parents and that isn't true. my parents are great people. my problem is that my mom and i are a lot alike and anything that bugs me about myself tends to bug me about her. i have been working really hard at learning how to not let things bother me but it is sometimes hard to let things go when they have been an issue for your whole life. with my mom it is the fact that she talks all the time. i have worked very hard to stop doing that myself. by relaxing certain muscles i find i can do it. but when i see my mom doing it, i want her to stop. so whenever i felt that way this weekend, i just focused on key muscles to relax and the stress of the situation just faded away. kind of nice.

we saw the incredibles tonight. i was really impressed with the animation. the way the hair and clothing flows was done really well. overall the picture was fun. i enjoyed myself. plus it didn't seem like it was 2 hours long. always a plus in my book.

i sold my computer desk on craig's list. it went over really well. i kind of wonder if i asked enough for it. but it sold and it is gone so that is the most inportant part. i gave my bookcase to my friend who watches oreo. she needed one and i wanted to get rid of one. good trade for me. our spare room is becoming more of a den every day. now that the bookcase and computer desk are gone, we can set up our shelving on 2 of the walls. i can't wait until it is done. all the painting is done with the exception of the door and window frames. that will hopefully be done tomorrow. all of our stuff is in the living room so i can't wait to put it all away.

ben is so cute. he is playing spiderman 2 play station. i got it for him for his bday....and now he is obsessed. go spidey.

anyway....i am playing with ben's new imac g5 computer with wireless keyboard and mouse. pretty cool. i am sitting 3 feet away from the screen with the keyboard on my lap and it works just fine. yeah!!! i think i can get used to having a mac.
