wedding plans

i have been so busy with wedding plans that i haven't even had time to breath. at least it feels that way.

after visiting las vegas with a friend (great time), bn and i had a long discussion about our original thought of having our wedding in vegas. i ended up saying that i didn't want to. since i was the one pushing this idea, it quickly changed to something else. when i was in vegas, i couldn't get over the feeling that there were just too many brides. i saw them everywhere. then after decided that my favorite location would be in the gardens at the flamingo, i talked with the wedding coordinator. everything was nice except that she kept saying that the rabbi's were really good about keeping the ceremony to 10-15 minutes. now, our ceremony may end up being that long but i don't want to feel like i have to limit it to being that short. we have some strong ideas on how we want our ceremony to go so that we can incoporate his religion with my beliefs. this most likely can't be squished into a 10-15 minute ceremony. the last kicker was that the only place that we could have the reception there was in a banquet room. the restaurants are just too small for our size wedding. not that it will be huge but most restaurants could only handle 30-50 people. plus we want to have dancing.

so vegas is out.

and it looks like chicago is in.

we have looked at a few places and will be looking at a few more this weekend.

so far we have looked at The Nature Museum, The Lion House at the Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Adler Planitarium. the Planitarium is at the top of our list right now but we still have other places to check out.

i'm really starting to have fun with these plans. i get to go dress shopping this weekend. should be fun.
